Every hour of the day, every day of the year, CONTACT's trained volunteers answer calls from people in need on our Crisis Intervention Helpline. Our callers are male and female, young and old, from all areas of the county. We offer emotional support and information along with crisis intervention. We speak with thousands of lonely, distressed and frightened people. We assist our callers in finding strength and resources to solve their problems. All conversations are free and confidential. CONTACT’s Crisis Helpline is there when you call - 24/7 – with services and referral information. Since 1972 CONTACT has provided continuous, confidential, nonjudgmental and free 24/7 support and suicide prevention assistance. CONTACT of Burlington County offers immediate and ongoing frontline response to anyone in Burlington County. Our crisis helpline is a “first step” for many in our community in need of emotional support; a “middle step” for those dealing with mental illness; and a “last step” intervention for those whose hopelessness has led them to the point of suicide. Our crisis call specialists are specifically trained in therapeutic listening skills to provide empathetic response and in crisis intervention techniques to react appropriately in critical situations.

Every county in New Jersey is served by a 24/7 walk-in psychiatric screening/crisis center. If someone you know is in psychiatric crisis, a county walk-in center is available. For a list of centers, visit the following website www.nj.gov/njhealthlink/ppdcountypsychiatricscreen.pdf
We do not provide on-line crisis intervention.
